We have adopted 2 greyhounds - not through GAP however but we love them just the same.
We got Jack (black & white) first after I had to put my poor old Dobermann down. I wanted an older dog which would be ok with being at home by itself during the day and one that would be fine with our cat.
About 6 months later we adopted Elsa (fawn & white) when her first adoptive parents had to move into a unit and couldn't keep her. She was very timid but fell in love with Jack & he with her at first sight.
In fact, I had to built a special double kennel so they could sleep together and you can't take one somewhere without the other wanting to come too (makes trips to the vet a little exciting!).
Both dogs play with the cat and although a little bit too 'alive' for young children have proven to be the perfect addition to our life.
