It's Angela and Snowy here..
I would like to share a small story with you about my greyhound..His name is Snowy..
(also known from me as "my Boo Beans" )
I adopted him 2 yrs ago from the GAP in south Australia..he is fawn and white dog and has a reputation for being a "Full on" type of dog..at least that's what I heard about him while he was being fostered (laughs).. with the many cat trainings and thinking that he could walk on the water of an inground pool! and many other things he was known for thru GAP SA..
He was one that they weren't sure would make it thru to a home...well least till he came my way..I fell in love with him the day we met him..I knew he was meant to be with me.
But now..even the people who know him are surprised to see how he has changed....
He's wonderful..so calm and loving..happy and playful..and even just a big ole couch
potato most of the time..
I have taught him to sit..lay down..bark for a treat or anything else that he may want...with the snap of a finger he will jump up or get down off of the bed or sofa..and many other tricks and stuff he can do..the list is endless...and he will even sit and have a "conversation" with me..
He will "talk to me" by howling and making slight barking and whining noises..that's his way of "talking" to me...and if I ask him if he loves me..he gives a bark as if to say
"Yep! I sure do mom!"
But there is a different side to Snowy..he's also very alert and protective. See I have been having seizures for the past year or so..well, my Snowy is always around me..(even follows me to the toilet and waits outside the door! )
But when I'm having a seizure he goes into alert mode..he's my guardian, right beside me...and if no one is in the room with me, he will bark and whine to get attention to alert the others in the house.. he will leave my room where I am only if someone is home and he will bother them till they come with him to the room...
