TOBY

	Hi Guys! Just thought I’d give you a quick update…. Toby is great! He is enjoying many adventures down here, including a recent weekend away at a deserted beach where we let him run free, and a few weekends up in the bush at my parents with their standard poodle, Gabby. He continues to be a people magnet and everyone seems to fall in love with him. Yesterday for Melbourne Cup, we had a picnic in the park across from the race track and everyone just wanted to pat him and talk about him all day! We also met another GAP dog which is always nice, except Tobes lost interest after about 15 seconds. It has been very hot down here (31 or 32) and he does seem to feel it and sleep more (if that’s possible!) but I just make sure he has enough water. He has just spent a few days at my parents in the country where he ran a LOT so he’s a bit limpy at the moment…. until he saw a cat this morning! He is such a relaxed and well behaved dog that he continues to come almost everywhere with me – which has made it hard to do the separation anxiety training as we always end up together! Don’t know if that’s a bad thing… will have to get him used to it soon as the summer months are coming. But I just love having him with me all the time, I can’t help it!
And he seems to enjoy it as well. He loves people and pats and even let a little 1 year old girl play with him for the day at work last week. It was very cute. I kept a close eye as it was a first for child and dog, but he was very tolerant and only got grumbly once at the end of the day when she accidently got too close and sat on his head! But I was so happy with how he behaved. He is very similar with the boisterous Gabby (the standard poodle) as she is a pup and jumps on him, barks in his ear and hits his nose with her paw all day - he barely bats an eyelid. Only when he’s had too much does he give her a little warning grumble and tells her its time to settle down. He is certainly the wiser of the two (as the photo suggests) but they get on great So he’s doing fantastically! Adopting him was the best thing I ever did. We are best mates and I get so much joy from him, I fall in love with that long pokey snout more each day. Love Sarah + Toby x
